Emma Clare Counselling

Helping you feel understood, worthy and enough.

You don't have to spend the rest of your life wondering if you're enough

If you've spent years feeling like you're not good enough, its understandable that you've learnt to question yourself, overthink your decisions, or believe you have to earn your worth.

Maybe its showing up in your relationships because you struggle to ask for help or set boundaries.

Or perhaps you replay conversations, worrying you've said the wrong thing.

Maybe no matter how much you achieve, it never feels like enough.

But it doesn't have to stay this way

The beliefs you hold about yourself today may have been shaped by your experiences , but they don't have to define your future.

Therapy isn't about changing who you are, or fixing you. It's about understanding how your experiences have shaped the beliefs you hold about yourself today, and helping you develop more balanced ways of thinking, so you can respond to yourself with greater self compassion and confidence.

Imagine waking up without constantly questioning yourself, trusting your decisions, setting boundaries without guilt, and believing that who you are is already enough. Together we can work towards making that your reality.

I'm Emma MBACP counsellor

Growing up, I struggled with the way I saw myself. I was incredibly self-conscious about my appearance and spent a lot of time comparing myself to other people. For years, I carried the belief that I needed to be different in order to feel good about who I was.

As I got older, those beliefs influenced the choices I made, the relationships I had and the way I moved through the world. There were times when I made decisions I’m not proud of and found myself becoming someone I didn’t necessarily recognise or want to be.

Looking back, I can understand those experiences very differently now. They sparked a curiosity in me about why we do the things we do and why two people can experience similar situations but respond to them in completely different ways.

That curiosity eventually led me to study counselling, followed by a Master’s in Criminal Justice and Crime Control. Along the way, I became increasingly interested in the experiences, beliefs and emotions that sit underneath our behaviour.

It’s something that continues to shape the way I work today. Whether I’m supporting a young person who is beginning to struggle with how they see themselves or an adult who has carried certain beliefs for years, I want to understand the person behind what they’re experiencing.

Therapy with me is a space to make sense of your story, understand the patterns you may have developed along the way and begin questioning the beliefs you’ve come to hold about yourself.

Because the way you see yourself today doesn’t have to be the way you see yourself forever.
